Originally known simply as The Tavern, the pub was renamed The Railway Tavern in 1840 when the neighbouring Brough Railway Station was opened. It became The Buccaneer in 1962, named after the famous fighter/bomber produced at the nearby aircraft factory. The "Bucc" is a Tetley house, serving excellent food, with a good turnover of guest beers, notably Black Sheep Bitter amongst others. Smaller and quieter than the other pubs in the villlage, it can get busy at the weekend. |
